NEWS: Joy Denalane shares new single ‘Forever’

Joy Denalane releases her new single ‘Forever,’ out today via Motown Records and produced by the formidable jazz pianist Roberto Di Giola.

Shimmering arrangements, rich and ethereal complete with choirs, iconic bass and flute inflections. In ‘Forever,’ she re-creates the perfect love song in a search for the classic soul track.

The song was quite a challenge”, Joy explains. “The melody and arrangement have less of my signature than many of the songs on the album. I deliberately wanted to write something that theoretically other artists could also sing. Something classic.”

This is the second bonus track to be released from the Deluxe edition of her acclaimed album ‘Let Yourself Be Loved,’ and comes ahead of the album release out in September this year.

She explains “Stylistically I was looking for inspiration from the period around the end of the 1960s to 1973,”  an important turning point for soul as a genre, when it became accepted as a socio-political force with significant impact.
