Nile Rodgers & Chic to headline Standon Calling 2019

Standon Calling have announced Nile Rodgers and Chic as the final headliners for this year’s festival, joining the already announced Rag’n’Bone Man.

With Standon Calling 2018 being a huge success, the family-friendly festival has once again delivered a host of entertainment for every musical taste bud.

Nile Rodgers brings his five decades of hits, and the god-like status as one of the forefathers of disco with hits such as ‘Le Freak’ and ‘Everybody Dance’.

Following Rodgers are Wolf Alice, who won last year’s Mercury Prize. The London outfit will no doubt deliver an emotive set. They have perfected the art of switching between hard rock and hauntingly soft melodies. They’ll bring all the feels.

Legendary 80s band Echo & The Bunnymen join the line-up, after years at the top of the alternative scene. Listen out for the chillingly powerful Killing Moon.

Young Scot Lewis Capaldi is tipped for big things this year, having enjoyed substantial backing on the UK’s top radio stations, being part of BBC Music’s Sound of 2018.

Other acts just announced include London DJ Erol Alkan who will be on hand to lay some beats perfect for a summer boogie, just as The Go! Team will bring the carnival feeling.

Founder and Festival Director Alex Trenchard said: “From top to bottom there’s something for everyone, and we’re excited to welcome everyone for an incredible weekend.

Standon Calling is dripping with culture, through music, theatre and arts. Even Dick & Dom will be there for their DJ Battle.

The festival takes place in Hertfordshire on July 25-28. For more details and information click here.
