Headlining NME’s Sounds of the Summer with Austin, Texas show will be Swim Deep.
Supporting the Brummie band will be OBN IIIs and Warm Soda, both from Austin, Texas. The show will see the headliners Swim Deep play material new and old, and give them a chance to showcase material from their upcoming second album.
“What better way to end this year’s alliance with the live music capital of the world than to bring Austin, Texas to London for a must-see, one-off gig?” says NME editor Mike Williams. “Both OBN IIIs and Warm Soda illustrate what’s so brilliant about Austin music, while our very own Swim Deep are one of Britain’s most popular new bands.”
The free gig is a new addition to this year’s NME awards season and will wrap up the events of 2015. This year’s awards were launched by Kasabian’s intimate show which were then followed by the many London shows including bands such as Twin Peaks, Baby Strange, Childhood, Peace and The Cribs. The NME Awards Tour 2015 which celebrated its 20th anniversary saw Palma Violets, Fat White Family, Slaves and The Wytches tour venues across the UK.
