Ones To Watch: Ziegler Company

This four piece band, based in South East London, is a fairly odd bunch: a former Thai monk, a Goldsmith’s graduate, a bookworm and, well, the fourth guy.  However, somehow it works. Ziegler Co.’s  folk-rock-indie echoes Latin American rhythms and the song-writing of Bob Dylan, and is filled with some really great guitar music (I mean, check out the riff on Slide).

Every track on their ‘Roll Up’ EP seems to give a different vibe.  Tracks like ‘Fall In’ and ‘It’s Everywhere’ exude a folky, blues style with slower riffs and melodramatic vocals, whilst ‘Bad Men’ and ‘Slide’ definitely kick it up a notch, sounding like the lively sort of folk tunes that would melt perfectly into a summer’s day. Last, but not least, let’s not forget the beautiful ‘Tourists’ – soft vocals and instrumentals create such a beautiful piece that it could easily become a classic.

This EP is extremely promising; it shows just a hint of what Ziegler Co. have clearly got to offer- I can’t wait to hear even more, and hopefully soon.

You can hear more from Ziegler Co. on their Soundcloud, and buy a digital copy of the EP for just £2.99 now from their bandcamp page.
