Ones To Watch: Fighting Caravans

Fighting Caravans continue their specialty of making music that makes you want to lose your mind in the desert on new single ‘Blue Heart Motel’, and when has that ever not been a good thing?

As the first glimpse of what’s to come following last year’s excellent EP, Beasts of England, the Leeds quintet yet again display their own take of brooding, haunting Americana.

Already a bracing live act, and quickly developing a trademark sound, the band show a welcome, inventive subtlety with the addition of somewhat sinister backing vocals.

Frontman Dan Clark remains a master of a hypnotic refrain. While the stomping ‘Tyrannasour’ concluded with the ominous threat “I fight dirty if I fight at all”, ‘Blue Heart Motel’ continues to rue “you got closer than anybody else”, before exploding into a sleazy wig out.

Released as a 7″ single on 1 July , the ‘Blue Heart Motel’ is also accompanied by a spectacularly dark, yet piss-funny, video.

Fighting Caravans will play the following tour dates:
