Ones To Watch: Staycations

Resembling the sound of bands such as Peace, Superfood and Foals, indie quintet Staycations are the latest band from Cambridgeshire to hit your ears. Having been confirmed to support Lonely The Brave at their Cambridge gig, the band recently shared their latest track, ‘The Enemy’.

Setting this track in motion are the tones of a harmonic synthesiser for a nano-second, before introducing the robust vocals. Once we’re aware of this empowering voice, it is noticeably present throughout the rest of the song. Brimming with excellence, the busyness of multiple riffs alongside drums heard within the track heighten the professional sound produced throughout.

Another offering, ‘Going Out’, begins with the distorted strumming of guitars, enhancing the groovy tones as a whole within the song. Ending with raspy vocals, the collective sounds of both instrumental and voice provide a complete sounding track.

From what we’ve heard so far, it isn’t hard to notice the blossoming potential of Staycations. With their sound and passion combined, there is no doubt they have the potential to be a hit upon the indie scene.
