Ones to watch: ZOHARA

Having been confirmed for Q Magazine’s tracks of the week and commissioned a buzz piece for NME, if you haven’t already come across ZOHARA, there’s no doubt you will soon.

From Tel Aviv and London, ZOHARA is a solo female producer and songwriter – it’s okay, I squealed with excitement too. Prodigiously talented and unapologetically experimental, ZOHARA’s soon to be released, bedroom-recorded album is set to be a collection of totally other-worldly material. The first single ‘Bass and Drum’ is a perfect example of her ability to transport you; with its airy production, whispy vocals and perfectly complimenting watery visuals, ‘Bass and Drum’ – and ZOHARA’s music in general – takes you on an ethereal journey.

Gaining a reputation through showcasing for various labels and supporting D/R/U/G/S, ZOHARA is known for her fearless movement between genres; whilst she may be difficult to pin down, she’s indisputably talented and an undeniable role model for female producers and musicians. She’s ambitious, cool and doing a damn good job of making a name for herself in all the right ways with all the right people.
