Headlining the Birmingham date of this years Dr Martens Stand For Something tour on the 29th October is Hackney MC and actress Paigey Cakey. Her distinctive talent and appearance in cult films like Attack The Block have seen her spearhead a female charge alongside Lady Leshurr in grime’s erstwhile male dominated scene.
Speaking about her appearance and what she stands for, Paigey Cakey said:
“I stand for myself, for one, but I wanna be the voice of the young people. I want to stand for the youth; I want to stand for something that means something. I feel like the youth of today need role models to look up to, so I want to stand for them.”
The Dr Martens brand is famed for its ability to withstand and adapt whilst staying true to its roots, and with an eclectic mix of artists headlining their 2016 Stand For Something tour; they’re set for another stomping success.
