Premier: Son of Dave shares new track ‘Pow Pow’ ahead of LP release

If you happened to be searching for a slice of innovative spice that reportedly resembles what music would sound like after “smoking a smurf” then Gigslutz has you covered.   Premiering exclusively this evening is the satisfyingly obscure new single by Son of Dave, ‘Pow Pow’.

If you are unfamiliar with Son of Dave, then you obviously haven’t been watching TV’s Breaking Bad or Bloodline with a magnifying glass or with open ears, as both shows’ soundtracks have previously featured the fifty-year-old Canadian’s music.  His esoteric knack for creativity is what has landed his place on massive soundtracks, and its why we are drawing attention to Son of Dave now, giving you the chance to become familiar with his sound before he embarks on a UK tour this November/December.

Heading to the likes of Winchester (4 November), Stockon-On-Tees (10) and Nottingham (29), Sons Of Dave, the tour is set to follow the release of Son of Dave’s forthcoming record Music For Cop Shows on October 27 via Godamn Records.  The full list of UK tour dates can be seen below.

Before then, however, we have ‘Pow Pow’.  A 3-minute stomper, showcasing a smorgasbord of disjointed elements which seemingly match-up perfectly, ‘Pow Pow’ is oddly charming.  Upon first listen, the whistles waft the idea of a seriously cheesy ode to the 80’s, while the strategically-used harmonica presents the imagery of a comedic movie chase scene.  However, the track itself is seriously groovy.  With repetitive plays, you will be swooning to the funk, and throwing your head back to catch the bemused smile on your face, reflected on others’.

‘Pow Pow’ by Son of Dave, is available to purchase from October 6.  However, listen below to the first morsel of what we can expect from Music For Cop Shows, now.
