PREMIERE: Cut Glass Kings share new single ‘Here Comes The Light’

Gigslutz are delighted to bring you the exclusive first play of the new single ‘Here Comes The Light’, from one of our favourite bands Cut Glass Kings. Scroll down to check it out…

The track is released on 17th April via the best indie label around at the moment, the irrepressible  Skeleton Key Records (She Drew The Gun, Blossoms, Cabbage).

Nurtured in the studio by The Coral’s James and Ian Skelly, the Stourbridge two-piece have blown the dust off the original rock and roll rulebook with a heaving track that summons to mind the finest moments of Queens of The Stone Age, White Denim and The Black Angels. Carousing in with string-scraping fuzz before hulking drums beat a path for the recurrent, blazing guitar line to follow; this is the sound of a band finding their optimum speed and direction, dragging passers-by into the maelstrom.

Hailing from Stourbridge in the West Midlands and made up of Paul Cross (guitar, keys & vocals) and Greg McMurray (drums & backing vocals), the band started their journey with the Skelly brothers two years ago, after landing a batch of rough demos on their mixing desk. Combining the inspiring live room experience of Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios and the creative hotbed of their own, kitchen-based recording set-up, Cut Glass Kings’ alchemy is borne of restless experimentation.

Their 2015 Skeleton Key release, ‘Drifter’ came shortly before a series of UK dates in support of The Coral, with ‘Here Comes The Light’ now providing a timely reminder of their unrelenting spirit as they set out on tour with label mates The Sundowners and Edgar Jones through April and May 2017.
