Premiere: Leisure share new EP ‘E-Numbers’

Earlier released as mixtape, Leisure  are now sharing three tracks from E-Numbers as their new EP.
Starting life as a ramshackle audio scrapbook inspired by mixtapes like Montage of Heck and Filthy Friends, “it explores the breakdown of relationships via the medium of songs, poems and found sounds, and unpacks the creative process itself in all its beautiful messiness,” the tracks on E-Numbers are now being released as a short, but very sweet, EP.
The EP is, according to the band, about endings. Clear in lyrics like “I want you here in my unmade bed / but here it comes, that serrated edge” (‘Strange Child’) or “Like a spider’s web suspended, we hung petals on the threads until the heaviness brought everything down” (‘E-Numbers’) there’s a definitely sense of loss. But there’s a chirpiness to the whole EP too; a determined urgency which among the slightly sorrowful lyricism make it rather hopeful.
