‘Birdsong Index’ is title track of the band’s year-ending, five-track EP released on Christmas Eve. The track opens with chippy guitars and vocals with such earnest, attention-grabbing gravitas that the scene is suddenly and dramatically set, the introspective lyrics tangling with instrumentation that tingles with latent energy.

The joint Manchester and Merseyside venture, featuring the towering vocals of Tom Hammersly, ably backed by former-Courteeners bassist, Mark Cuppello, Daniel Donohue (drums) and James Feltham (guitars) picks up threads from The Smiths, Echo and The Bunnymen and The National to weave into a new tapestry of brutalist indie.
