Premiere: Messy Bird – ‘Dirty Knees’

Messy Bird are set to release their debut single ‘Dirty Knees’ on the 29th of January, but here at Gigslutz we’ve been granted the pleasure of premiering the Brighton psych-rock trio’s first offering. The track is laced with trippy distortion, shady riffs, and spun out vocals; all of which will instantly gratify fans of psychedelic stoner rock.

Equal parts elusive and abrasive, the trio’s sound is influenced by Led Zeppelin, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Raconteurs, and Snarky Puppy. With a batch of FX pedals the band create their distinctive, trippy noise and ‘Dirty Knees’ is just a taste of things to come. The band are planning to release their debut EP later in the year, as well as a music video, and continuing to play plenty more hometown shows.

If you’re keen to get caught up in Messy Bird’s haze, they’ll be playing two release shows. First up is their party on the 29th of January at The Green Door Store, and then they’ll be smashing around in the basement of Mike’s Frog Bar on the 10th of February.
