PREMIERE: Natalie Shay releases new visuals for ‘People Like Me’

Brit School grad Natalie Shay drops the new video for her latest single ‘People Like Me’. The young singer/songwriter has been making waves in the London music scene and beyond, with her infectious sound of fresh indie pop. ‘People Like Me’ brings back the feel-good vibes of 80’s pop, whilst maintaining modern dance-worthy elements and this is showcased in her latest music video.

All filmed in one complete shot, the visuals show Shay writing, playing guitar and dancing with friends in her bedroom – stereotypical behaviour from a 20-year-old. Until the very end, where the camera spins around, revealing Shay performing in front of a crowd of worshipping fans. Featuring an array of pink tones and complete with a disco ball, pink globe and hair accessories chucked around the room, the visuals don’t hold back on details. The theme for the track was sparked after Shay developed a love for Belinda Carlisle’s ‘Heaven Is A Place On Earth’. Having been inspired by the intricate production styles of the 80’s and also modern 80’s influenced artists such as The 1975 and Two Door Cinema Club, Shay has crafted an equally captivating song, which stays stuck in your head all day long.

Shay speaks on the narrative of the song, “Everyone only presents the best version of themselves online and I suppose this is what I’m trying to present in the song. Even though people post and talk about the best things happening in their lives, there’s always another side and a lot of hard work. Everyone’s just human.”

With an impressive collection of awards under her name, as well as extensive media acclaim and receiving Spotify’s sought after New Music Friday playlist in nine countries around the world, Shay is heading quickly down the road to stardom.
