Premiere: RJ Thompson - 'The Times They Are A-Changin''

Here at Gigslutz, we know you need a pick-me-up on a Monday and today we’ve got RJ Thompson‘s cover of a Bob Dylan classic, ‘The Times They Are A-Changin”. It’s still in keep with the folk/ballad style of Dylan, but there’s an added power to Thompson’s vocals as if all the problems of 2017 have driven him to stand up and say something.

Dylan may have intended it to be an anthem of change for the time back in 1964, but it still stands today. After the week we’ve all just had full of Trump’s Muslim bans, shootings and even more Brexit talk, Thompson’s cover is what we need.

RJ Thompson is a Geordie singer-songwriter that has worked his way up over the last year, proving that a bit of hard graft can get you anywhere. He’s gone from open mic nights around Tyneside, to sharing the bill with Jools Holland and Joss Stone at The Royal Albert Hall. He’s done what we all dream of.
