PREMIERE: Susie Blue shares debut LP, ‘Didn’t Mean To Care’

Northern Irish indie-rocker is today releasing her debut album, Didn’t Mean To Care, available to stream below.

Driven by shoegazey guitars and indie-pop melodies, drawing comparisons to the likes of Wolf Alice and Pale Waves but with a sound that is undoubtedly her own, Didn’t Mean To Care is a poignant and powerful debut album. Speaking of the album, Susie says:

“This album is a collection of songs I’ve been writing and playing with the band for a couple of years, and is the story of my teenage years after coming out. The title refers to the many times I ‘didn’t mean to care’ about people of things but I couldn’t help myself. A lot of the songs are about my relationships with past girlfriends, some good and some bad – but I hope people will bring their own interpretations and feelings to them too. If a song I wrote relates to someone, then that means everything for me.”

Despite being very open about personal experiences, Didn’t Mean To Care is, indeed a collection of songs that everyone can, at least to some degree, relate to. It’s an incredibly strong debut, and no doubt just the start of what Susie Blue has to offer.
