PREMIERE: Watch the video for Sleepovers new single ‘Group Therapy’

London’s Lo-Fi rabble Sleepovers release the aptly titled ‘Group Therapy’ from the forthcoming Heartbreak High EP on March 9th and you can watch the accompanying video exclusively first on Gigslutz from today. Scroll down to check it out.

Following the release of ‘Good Sides‘ from the same aforementioned EP, ‘Group Therapy’ is a ramshackled yet catchy as you like shoegaze pop song which takes on a path first carved by Pavement and early Blur. It also throws a decided millennial twist on that formula with Mac DeMarco and Rex Orange County style melodies all coming to the fore, which is nicely topped off with heavy layers of distorted Britpop guitar elegance.

The video, like the song, is low-fi but stylish mixing 3D imagery (minus the glasses) with band performance and stock footage blended with an injection of humour juxtaposing perfectly with the ‘heart on the sleeve’ lyrics of Frontman Alfie. He explains the topic of the song as; ‘I was self-medicating a broken heart and head which ultimately led to turning to others for help.’

What is more enticing than a Sleepover? Not a lot. So the band are encouraging people to bring their PJ’s and pillows down to their gigs to indulge in pillow fights and pints! Now, let’s drown our sorrows with their unique brand of combustible Shoegaze with a strong Britpop Vein.
