Preview: Kathryn Williams Live at The Union Chapel 19.11.13

Although I first fell in love with Kathryn Williams by listening to her covers album – ‘Relations’ – back in 2004, it seems she is quite a master of songwriting, as well as being able to create beautiful renditions of other artists’ songs. Having just released her tenth album since first gracing the world’s ears in 1999, each and every song that this Liverpudlian beaut issues is as enchanting – and altogether magical – as the last.

‘Crown Electric’ (released on One Little Indian) pays host to an array of characteristically memorable melodies, poetic lyrics and immaculately beautiful arrangements. However, whilst as prettily charming as ever, Williams’ most recent offering is bolder and darker than previous material, presenting us with a wiser, worldier Kathryn.

And so, if you fancy falling head over heels with some Northern charm, you must head on over to the fittingly iconic Union Chapel next Tuesday night, where Williams is set to grace us with an intimately lovely evening of pristine, folky goodness.
