PREVIEW: Nelly Globes Autumn Daze @ The Whiskey Jarr, Tariff Street, Manchester

Following on from the success of the Spring/Summer Daze, an Autumn Daze is the next big event for Nelly Globe, the charity that helps raise money for trauma victims as well as keeping the subject within the public eye.

Nelly Globe is a charity that functions not just to get money but to raise more awareness of trauma and be proactive in it’s approach through these events, exhibitions, art auctions, and live music.

While donations are optional they are appreciated for such an exciting affair located in the heart of Manchester. The event will be taking place at The Whiskey Jar on Tariff Street in Manchester between 1pm and 7pm, and will be celebrated with a range of DJ’s playing everything from Northern Soul and 60’s pop, to funk, Balearic, and Latin style mixes. To see what more to expect, read on about the DJ’s gracing the Autumn Daze with their presence.

They have former singer Lee Gorton of Manchester indie rock group Alfie, Lee Gorton now is one of the biggest promotors at ‘Down With Redbricks’, on top of DJ’ing for the venue. He also currently DJ’s for one of Manchesters hippest new bar ‘mono’. To see what he’s up to now, groove over to The Whiskey Jar and get dancing along.

The notable DJ attending the Nelly Globe Autumn Daze is Martin Brew, otherwise known as J-Walk. While many DJ’s focus on the big beats, the wobbly bass, or making the next best digital wonder in the MP3 world we live in, J-Walk differs in his interesting approach. His latest album from May this year, ‘Off Beat’ focuses on analogue synths and jazzy looping break beats, especially on it’s title track. It’s refreshing to hear such a retro approach to 21st century music here, so catching him at the venue live would definitely be worth it.

All in all this is a great event, ran by a great charity. We urge you all to get on down and give your support…
