Preview: Victorious Festival top tips and highlights

Widely known as one of the best value festivals in the country, Victorious Festival is the UK’s biggest metropolitan festival of music and family entertainment, taking place over the weekend of 25 – 27 August, 2017, in the spectacular seaside location of Southsea overlooking the Solent.

A truly family-orientated festival there is something for everybody to enjoy; from a kid’s arena to a champagne bar, to a real ale village, an eclectic range of food stalls, an arts and craft marketplace and performances from some of the worlds most exciting acts, spanning endless genres. Here are Victorious’ top tips and highlights for the weekend… 

Stereophonics, Elbow and Madness Headline Victorious

Headliners include Madness, Mercury-winning Mancunian Maestros Elbow, and Welsh rockers with brand new material Stereophonics will be blessing our ears.  

Pop Idols Takeover

Pop idols meet indie legends at this year’s Victorious Festival, with the likes of Olly Murs, Rita Ora & The Charlatans all taking to the stage.  

A Show Stopping Line Up

The line-up boasts some seriously huge names such as Jake Bugg, Franz Ferdinand, Slaves, Frank Turner and many, many more. A host of indie legends from Maximo Park, The Dandy Warhols, and Band of Skulls, to Jesus and Mary Chain will also be swinging by.

The Sea Side Views

Celebrate the best of Portsmouth at the Sea Side Stage, flaunting a home grown vibe all weekend. Watch the best up and coming talent from the local area –  presented by local presenter Nick Courtney. Boutique markets, street food and pop up bars add to the festival flavour is this laid back arena.

Real Ale Village

At the heart of the Real Ale village you’ll find the Mayfield Studios stage showcasing the best in indie, shanty, folk & covers music. Perfect to accompany any ale. As well as the Mayfield Studio Stage we will have a beer tent brimming with brilliant brews from an array of breweries near and far meaning there will be something for all hop heads, craft beer connoisseurs and those who just enjoy a pint.

Happy’s Circus

By day be mesmerised by the traditional circus shows featuring Acrobats, Aerialists, speciality acts Rolla-Rolla and Sword Balancing plus loads of Magic performed by Happy’s Circus! Perfect fun for the whole family! By night, dance to the sounds of the Soul Circus DJ’s playing the very best of Motown, Funk & Soul.

Free Kids Arena

The Kids Arena will offer various craft activities – for those who are not afraid to get a little messy, kiddioke for any budding Justin Biebers in the crowd, climbing walls, face painting and much, much more. The Kids Arena stage will boast headline performances from CBeebies star, Mr Bloom and story time with everyone’s favorite Peppa Pig and George.

Butserfest Stage

Victorious Festival and Butserfest have joined forces to bring you, Butserfest at Victorious, taking the unique vibe of Butserfest to a much larger audience. Butserfest has built a reputation for discovering the next big thing in alternative and rock music, and has played host to the likes of Mallory Knox, You Me At Six, Kids in Glass Houses and Our Hollow Our Home, to name a few. And this year, we are bringing Butserfest and some of the best acts in the genre to Victorious Festival.

World Music Village

Prepare to be transported across the globe when you enter the World Music Village. With a variety of top performances – including a DJ set from the Grammy nominated Neneh Cherry, and performances from Macka B, Des-C UK Bangra & Black Slate alongside The Pan Jazz International Steel Orchestra, Latin Dance Workshops, Spoken Word, Tai Chi Classes, Flea Markets and incredible World Food.

Southsea Castle Champagne Bar

The stunning Southsea Castle, one belonging to Henry VIII plays host to Southsea’s popular Summer Champagne Bar. Climb the ramparts and enjoy the views with a glass of bubbly while listening to an amazing line up of DJs. A truly unique Victorious Festival experience.
