Fresh from the release of their debut EP, folk-blues outfit – Sam Green & The Midnight Heist – are currently embarking on a tour of the UK. With lashings of stunning slide guitar and inspired riffs, Green and co. deliver assuredly upbeat, catchy folk tunes with a distinctly bluesy edge.
Having seen them live before, I can assure you that SGATMH will not disappoint. Green alone is capable of captivating crowds with his ability to execute perfect slide guitar riffs whilst beating away at a tambourine with his foot, and enchanting us with his smooth, enigmatic vocals; and, with the addition of Matt Cooke blasting out impressive beats on cajon and percussion, along with Joe James on double bass and James Cameron’s rootsy harmonica melodies, this band put on a pretty exciting live show that will have your feet tapping and hands clapping in no time.
Some dates will be the full band and others are simply a mesmerising solo set from Sam. Either way, you’re sure to be in for a wonderfully enjoyable treat that will leave you hankering for the next local barn dance.
