The Savage Nomads to open for Adam Ant

Since releasing their last single, ‘Porno’,  South London’s finest – The Savage Nomads – have been keeping extremely busy. Not only have they got a brand new drummer and bassist, but they have been working on reams of new material, as well as preparing for some pretty exciting future events…

After spending the summer together in NYC, guitarist Josh and frontman Cole have not only written and recorded an array of new songs, they have also made some pretty sweet contacts – including Brendan Canty from Fugazi – and plan to release new material over there in the near future. A new album is now fully written and ready to go, just waiting for the perfect people to release it.

And, if that wasn’t enough, the Nomads have a number of exciting live shows planned… Having seen the band live for the second time last Friday at the Sebright Arms, I can confirm that they are better than ever. Salewicz is a magnificent front man, charming the crowd with his infinite supply of swagger and charisma, all the while oozing his New Romantics-esque vocals. As the Miles brothers blast out impressive, funk-infused riffs, suave new bassist Tom Williams picks away at his bass with ease whilst Louis Lacoste (“All the way from France!”) delivers pounding, uptempo beats. A titillating, dynamic, energy-rich set that proves The Savage Nomads are here to stay.

And what better evidence of your success than being requested to open for the legend that is Adam Ant on his next London show in November? Apparently Mr Ant is a huge fan of The Savage Nomads and personally requested their support! Not a bad way for a new band to finish up a tour.
