Merseyside based psych-pop band She Drew The Gun were crowned the winners of the annual Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent competition this weekend, bagging themselves a slot on one of the main stages at this year’s festival.
With judges including Glastonbury organisers Michael and Emily Eavis, SHTG beat off stiff competition from runners up Bossy Love and Hattie Whitehead on Saturday evening. Thousands off acts entered when the competition was announced in January, from which 120 were whittled down by a team of top music writers, before a final 8 were chosen by judges including Emily Eavis.
As well as playing the festival the act win £5, 000 from the competition supporters PRS for Music and the PRS for Music Foundation as a Talent Development prize. Previous winners include last year’s Declan McKenna, who has since signed with the same management company as this year’s headliners Muse.
