Sonic Youth Unveil A Live Recordings Archive

It marks the 30th anniversary of Daydream Nation, which will be available at nugs.net and will also be available in a CD format.

Their 2007 Glasgow show, alongside the show at a now-closed New York venue CBGB in 1998 will also feature in the archive.

Sonic Youth commented on the announcement of the archive:

“Through the years and as the times changed we recorded our live shows as often as we could, on cassettes, DATs, CD-Rs and later on multi-track recorders,” says Steve Shelley. “We collected fan-generated audience tapes, shady bootlegs and anything we could get our hands on. We now maintain an archive of hundreds of hours of Sonic Youth concerts and we’d like to share some of our favourites.”

The band have also started selling pieces of their equipment online, a Japanese-made Fender Jazzmaster, used for over a decade. Shop their collection through Reverb here.
