Sound City announce Catfish and the Bottlemen as second headliner

Catfish and the Bottlemen make a triumphant return after appearing as an unsigned act in 2011. 

After being crowned Best Metropolitan Festival of 2015, Sound City is going for gold yet again with a big, better and even more diverse lineup.

Joining The Coral, Catfish and the Bottlemen will return to Sound City, this time with a debut gold album, a BBC Introducing award and a Brit nomination under their belt. Playing a headline set, the band return to where it all began for what’s set to be a very exciting show.

Alongside the headliners a huge range of established acts and emerging talent have been announce. Added to the lineup today are: Palma Violets, Georgia, Viola Beach, Shura, Neon Waltz, Inheaven, Levelz, Mez, Dilly Dally, The Big Moon, Kagoule and Holy Esque.

Known for pairing world-renowned DJs with iconic Liverpool settings, Freeze are set to bring a brand new dimension to this year’s Sound City, taking over the Baltic Warehouse with exciting electronic shows. The likes of Leftfield and Hot Chip will take over the Freeze Warehouse alongside Floating Points live and DJ Koze who will be making his Liverpool debut.

Other artists such as Motor City Drum Ensemble, Mano Le Tough, John Talabot, as well as many more, are also on the bill for the Freeze Warehouse, with even more to be revealed soon.

Said Rob Casson from Freeze: “Freeze are thrilled to be working with one of the UK’s most forward-thinking music festivals, and are especially excited to be bringing a new dimension to this year’s Sound City. It’s a truly spectacular setting on the docks for some of the world’s leading live acts and DJs from the electronic dance music spheres. During our 10th anniversary we showcased some incredible acts throughout 2015 in the city in a series of awe-inspiring venues and locations, and in 2016 we are aiming even higher, including this collaboration with Sound City which opens the festival up to a brand new audience.

Sound City takes place on 28 & 29 May 2016 at the Liverpool Waters, Bramley-Moore Dock, an historic waterfront location and one of the most unique festival sites in the world.
