Newly arising on the music scene, Trampolene are grabbing the industry by the balls and moving forward with brute force. In a world of music that’s arguably become ‘prim and proper’ they’re keeping gritty, hard-hitting, true rock & roll alive. These boys are electric and on fire – we caught up with lead singer/guitarist Jack Jones to gain an insight on just what a festival means to the band and what to expect from them at Strawberry Fields.
GS: What are your festival essentials?
JJ: Toilet roll. Probably steroids (non meat-head type – The Crohns type – although would accept the meat-head type as well.)
GS: What is your favourite festival you’ve been to?
JJ: I’ve never been to one; they’re too fucking expensive! Actually we recently played at Les Dans Tous Etats in Evereux France with Massive Attack & Kasabian and had a thoroughly good time.
GS: What are you looking forward to about SFF?
JJ: Seeing Reverend and The Makers, definitely.
GS: What is your dream festival line-up?
JJ: What about, late 60s Beatles set – Early 70s Bowie set – mid to late 80s The Cure and The Smiths sets – 90s Oasis, Manics (with Richie) and Pulp sets – 00s Eminem and Libertines sets and 10s – who knows – maybe watch my own Trampolene set.
GS: What’s the best/worst thing ever to happen at a festival?
JJ: When I played guitar with John Frusciante and Liam Gallagher started singing ‘Under The Bridge’, could be the best, and when my friend got eaten by a seagull, on his birthday, before his wedding could be the worst. I just made those up, of course.
GS: What can we expect from you at SFF?
JJ: Expect the new Rock & Roll.
So, as I’ve already told you, these lot are pretty special, but you don’t need to take my word for it, have a listen to ‘You Do Nothing For Me’ below. Electric energy is just oozing out of Trampolene and their live shows promise to be relentless. I’m glad to tell you Rock & Roll isn’t dead.
Excited to see Trampolene play the This Feeling stage at SFF on Sunday August 10th? You should be, check out the full SFF Preview for a temporary fix here.
