Swim Deep frontman, Austin Williams, unveils influences behind their forthcoming record

Inspired by the “energy” of “Motown”, Swim Deep have revealed their sophomore album is taking a different approach.

In an interview with the Birmingham Mail, Swim Deep frontman Austin Williams announced that the follow up to 2013’s Where In Heaven Are We is “an evolved record to the last one” as well as being an overall “bigger, better, ballsier experience”

Williams continued to say that he, and the rest of the B-town band “listened to different soul music and Motown”, declaring that their “energy comes from those influences”, whereas before their “influences were all kind of stoned and grungy reverb”.
