TAYNE share video for new track ‘Storms’

Industrial synth-pop outfit TAYNE have shared an intense set of visuals to accompany their latest track ‘Storms’. Taken from their debut album Breathe (released 2nd November via Strange Brew Records), the video features choppy, kaleidoscopic close-ups of creator Matthew Sutton, reflecting the song’s turbulent context and abrasive sound.

Speaking about the track, Matthew explains: “Lyrically, the song was based on a bunch of repeating dreams I had. There seemed to be a reoccurring battle between my subconscious and conscious mind reliving scenarios in my life that I wish had turned out differently. This song is called ‘Storms’ because it ties into all the same reoccurring themes throughout Breathe“. Self-produced by Matthew himself, mixed by Barra Enright, and mastered with TJ Lipple (Xiu Xiu, St Vincent, Fugazi, Bikini Kill, Holy Ghost & MGMT) TAYNE’s Breathe is set to be a polished but punishing listen. The album has been printed on translucent magenta vinyl and is now available to pre-order from Rough Trade (order your copy here).

To celebrate the release, TAYNE are playing an early album launch gig at The Old Blue Last tonight (4th October) before embarking on a tour of the UK & Ireland (see below for dates). The band are joined by Birthmarks (fka Little Death Machine), Volkova Sisters, and Kalli Ma will be DJing after the set. It’s free entry, and you can pick up a copy of the vinyl from the merch stand. TAYNE’s live performances perfectly showcase their ability to pulverize a sound system with their visceral, disorientating noise pop – so make sure you head down to see them (RSVP here).
