As Gigslutz exlusively reported earlier this week, The Libertines will be reunited for a show at Hyde Park on 5th July. The news has officially been announced today.
The band, who last appeared together for a one off show at Leeds festival in 2010, will perform at the British Summertime Festival. Main support on the day will come from The Pogues, Spiritualized, Maximo Park and The Enemy. There will be three stages on the day with the likes of Swim Deep, Darlia, Wolf Alice, The Twang and The Rifles also playing. Sounds a good day out dunnit!
Tickets go on sale Friday May 2 at 9am. Keep your eyes peeled on Gigslutz for details of how to purchase them.
Rumours about the reunion started last weekend after Pete Doherty stated he had been approached with an offer to reunite the band, to which he had agreed. Gigslutz then caught up with Carl Barât who told us that it was “very much a possibility” and for us to “keep 5th July free”.
