THIS FEELING TRACK OF THE DAY 02.02.16: Man & The Echo ‘Vile As You Want’

2016 promises to be a busy year for Man & The Echo, who are currently holed up in their Warrington headquarters working on their debut album with highly sought producer Neil Comber (Django Django, M.I.A). Ahead of the album release later this year, they have a new single out on digital download and vinyl, the brilliantly titled ‘Vile as You Want’. Get on it below…

The song demonstrates how this band are completely unwilling to be defined by a single genre, as they channel 60’s girl groups before heading into a stomping, psychedelic one word chorus (“want, want, want, want”). You are almost caught off guard by the witty rebukes to the politically incorrect, as lyricist Gaz Roberts constructs an argument to confound bigotry and crams it neatly into a three minute pop song: “There is no liberal elite/Nobody’s stifling your speech/It’s still the same old boys on top/Yeah, quite a little melting pot/ And nobody’s saying you can’t be as vile as you want.”
