This Is Tomorrow Festival Announce First Headliner…

The huge May bank holiday music festival will host Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds as their first headliner.

It has been confirmed that the festival who welcomed over 30,000 music fanatics through their gates last year to see acts such as Catfish and the Bottlemen, will return in 2019.

This time, the festival will take place at Exhibition Park in Newcastle. SSD Concerts have said it will be the “first of its kind” , which promises to be the largest and most forward thinking the city has ever hosted.

Saturday’s lineup has also partially been released, with The Vaccines, Editors and Glasvegas making appearances through the day.

SSD’s Steve Davis commented on the headliner announcement:

“The people of the Newcastle and the North East are in for something truly special when This Is Tomorrow lands. It will be futuristic in its vibe and we have many special things planned.

Last year we started the This is Tomorrow legacy but our long-term plan for the festival means we’re always looking to push the boundaries to improve our overall offering and re-locating to Exhibition Park will be a truly fitting space for an event of this size and calibre.

We can’t wait to see some truly iconic and legendary bands and artists coming to Newcastle and we’re proud to be able to confirm Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds as our first headliner.

Noel constantly smashes the boundaries of what’s of possible musically, recreating himself with every album. He is a fitting addition to the festival and will blow the crowd away outdoors in the summer sun!”

Tickets are now on sale here, from just £49. Find out more information at This Is Tomorrow’s Official Website.
