TRACK: FALSE HEADS – ‘RETINA’

Essex three piece, False Heads recently dropped their colossal track ‘Retina.’ ‘Retina,’ is the first track they’ve produced so far in 2018, and I can assure you, False Heads aren’t here to play. ‘Retina,’ is available on Spotify and Soundcloud as of now, but officially out on 23rd February.

Rising from the ground of previous bands, False Heads have exposed a raw style of grunge, and are thrashing their way to critical acclaim. With supporting The Libertines at a sold-out tour in 2017, it’s fair to say they’re only going onwards and upwards from here.

‘Retina,’ opens with a mellow guitar pattern plucked by bassist, Jake Elliot followed by slurred, blurry and gloomy lyrics by frontman Luke Griffiths.

Bellowing jagged riffs, and weaving in noisy vocals, ‘Retina,’ is a grunge inspired rock track emphasising False Heads strength. Following their previous releases of, ‘Twentynothing,’ ‘Weigh In,’ ‘Thick Skin,’ and ‘Steal & Cheat,’ ‘Retina,’ is a stronger taste of punk-rock more so than any of their other tracks.

“They are young and talented and going places… if they came to my town I’d show up for that, if they come to your town, you might wanna show up” – Iggy Pop, BBC 6 Music.

‘Retina’ is out now on Spotify, and via digital download on 23 Feb
False Heads play a single launch at Dingwalls, London on 23 Feb
