TRACK: Kate Nash – ‘Drink About You’

Kate Nash, the queen of literate disses: “I’d rather be with your mates, cause they are much fitter.”  We’ve all heard Foundations, the track that for most of us, summed up what it was like to date an absolute idiot. Lest we forget her fetching pop track ‘Dickhead’. For years she’s presented us with great clap back music and has managed to make us hate the guys she’s dated just through her songs.

‘Drink About You’ is a playful, indie-pop song conveying what it feels like to be in a vicious love cycle that feels somewhat endless. The narrative is of a young Kate Nash, exposing an incredibly raw and overwhelming subject. Instead of dwelling on the sad parts of the situation, she creates a positive and loveable take on it.

Merging simplistic guitar patterns and cheerful lyrics, ‘Drink About You’ is every teenage girls anthem.

The track features on Nash’s upcoming album Yesterday Was Forever, due for release on March 30. You can pre-order here.
