Formed over 20 years ago from the ashes of The La’s and Shack, CAST exploded onto the scene with the release of their 1995 debut album All Change and in the four years that followed went on to score 10 Top 20 singles. With a new album due in 2015, the release of ‘Baby Blue Eyes’ will just about keep fans ticking over until the release of CAST’s as yet untitled sixth studio album.

With front-man John Power singing “don’t cry baby blue eyes” the track continues in the CAST sound fans will be familiar with from their previous material and for a fan like myself I found myself singing along within a couple of listens. With over 2500 plays already on Soundcloud and a nation-wide tour commencing next month the evidence suggests CAST are still relevant today and I for one cannot wait to hear all the big tracks once again live. With 359 Records John McCullagh and The Escorts joining CAST on tour the gigs promise to warm-up those cold December nights and my suggestion is you get yourself along for a great night.
