Unsigned Act Of The Week: Hawk

Terrifyingly beautiful and stunningly haunting are two phrases perfectly used to describe the sound of prominent four-piece Hawk. Consisting of Julie Hawk, Matthew Harris; Chris Handsley and Sam Campbell, the London-based band are beginning to carve their mark into the music industry, thanks to the sheer energy radiating from new single, and the first offering from forthcoming Clock Hands EP, ‘Hush’.

Expanding horizons and putting their name on the map, Hawk have created ‘Hush’ – a sort-of tribute to the band’s experiences in 2014, hence the song being available to download free of charge. Boasting an emotion-driven vocal, delivered by frontwoman Julie Hawk herself, and expelling a crescendo of power,  Hawk’s ‘Hush’ takes the listener on a ghostly journey through the heart and soul of this phenomenal four-piece.

Propelling your mouth to the floor, ‘Hush’ reaches its climax with an elongated instrumental before subsiding with a lingering repetition of “let go of the carousel”. As the track fades, goosebumps ripple across your body and a sudden lightness calms your mind. ‘Hush’ manages to create a Hawk-sized poignant memory so vivid, it’s near impossible to forget. With the release date of ‘Hush’ being penciled in for December 8th, Hawk are slowly, but surely, setting the hearts of fans alight with their thrilling sound.
