TRACK REVIEW: Hidden Charms ‘Sunnyside’

Hidden Charms are seemingly a band who you want to keep an eye out for, if you haven’t already. Having been gigging up and down the country, they’ve supported Razorlight and worked alongside hotly-tipped young producer Young & Sick to record this debut track, ‘Sunnyside’.

This song is a great insight of what’s to come from this young UK four piece. It’s charming with soft percussion sounds and a soothing tambourine. ‘Sunnyside’ holds all the essentials of an old school rock ‘n roll classic – and I’m not talking Britpop stuff, I’m talking Chuck Berry and Stones. It has a groovy bass that allows the more mellow sounds to flourish around it, while the vocals are reminiscent of a young Jagger, strutting his stuff and making a meaningful mark on the music scene.
