Track Review – Russian Gun Dogs: ‘Survive’

After recently being nominated as one of BBC Introducing’s ‘Picks of 2013’ and having supported the likes of Ash and The Pigeon Detectives, Coventry’s newest, and hardest working, band – Russian Gun Dogs – have just released their new single ‘Survive’. An amalgamation of a variety of genres, blending together Kings Of Leon-esque indie-pop melodies with a post-punk vibe, ‘Survive’ hits the right notes on many levels.

Full of catchy chords, driving riffs and lyrical storytelling, ‘Survive’ begins with a mellow air but soon builds up to an uplifting climax of a chorus, resulting in a fusion of sounds that should not be passed by.

It thus seems that five years of hard work is finally paying off for these alt-rockers, and if you would like to witness the anticipation and energy of their live shows first hand, Russian Gun Dogs will be supporting LUNGS (ex-Guillemots) on Thursday 26th September at the Amersham Arms.
