Having graduated two years ago, and gone on to travel France with just a guitar for company, New York-based artist Kate Grom is now set to release her debut album. Inspired by the likes of Stevie Nicks, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris and Patsy Cline, she creates charmingly rustic, and lyrically rich, folk-tinged ballads.
Taken from the album is ‘Whistle Cry’. Filled with sweeping hooks and Grom’s smooth, impassioned vocals, the track oozes a deep emotive splendour and wistful sense of longing. It is, quite simply, a beautiful slice of heartwarming Americana.
