Glaswegian group Mickey 9s are set to release their single ‘Superman’ on December 2nd via Good Guy Records, but here at Gigslutz we’re excited to premiere the video for the funky track that “gleefully stretches the limits” of what a pop song can be.
‘Superman’ is the first track taken from the band’s album Galactic Radio which is due to be released in 2017, and the video features some golden and unusual dance moves that you’ll be mimicking after your first viewing.
The band is comprised of Ants (guitar), Dave (bass), and Ross (drums), who came together in 2007 to form the Mickey 9s. Since their formation, the group have gone on to be a leading members of the Scottish festival circuit making appearances at The Barrowlands as well as supporting prominent bands such as Sugarhill Gang. The group’s sound has also been compared to Daft Punk, INXS, and The Rapture.
Watch the new video for ‘Superman’ below, and make sure you grab your gold capes and head down to the nearest dance floor, because the Mickey 9’s know how to make you move.
‘Superman’, the new single from Mickey 9s, is out 2 December via Good Guy Records.
