Following acclaim from the likes of Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing for their last single ‘Redeem’, Quiet Boy are now set to release a brand new 4-track EP.
Taken from the EP is the epic ‘Supergirl’. A fusion of classically-inspired lilting melodies and glitchy electronic sounds, it’s a eclectic, whirring soundscape. Of the track, songwriter Gav Tomlinson explains that it was initially an ode to his partner Brigitte Aphrodite, and the loss of a major book of her poetry (‘Throwing words into the ocean’), on a night spent on a Hastings beach. The video revisits the same stretch of beach but the track takes on a new persona as it confronts the misunderstanding and persecution of LGBTQ individuals and their relationships.

Earwig, the upcoming EP from Quiet Boy, is out 2 June.
