Video Premiere: The Orielles – ‘Joey Says We Got It’

Following the success of their debut single ‘Space Doubt’ earlier this year, Halifax trio The Orielles are back with their unique brand of jangly surf-pop with a new video for their track ‘Joey Says We Got It’.

Filled with sunny melodies, reverb-strewn harmonies and the band’s trademark sparkling youthful energy, ‘Joey Says We Got It’ is the perfect track to drag you out of this post-summer lull.

Here’s what the band have to say about the new video:

“After watching the cult classic ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ and its recently released prequel, we decided that we wanted to loosely base our video around the idea of a ’70s American summer camp. We gathered a bunch of our mates to help out and had a blast in our friend’s garden in Fallowfield, Manchester.

Sam Frost is the genius behind the camerawork and editing, along with help from Josh Bentley. They use an old handheld camcorder with a fisheye lens which stems from their background in making DIY/Lo-Fi skate videos. We are really into the feel of all the stuff they do. They’re also so much fun to work with as they have the most crazy ideas!”

‘Joey Says We Got It’ is out 17 October, as part of this year’s Cassette Store Day, via Weiner Records on cassette. It will also be part of a special cassette release by Alcopop! and Superfan99.
