VIDEO PREMIERE: I Am Willow – ‘Hearts In The Night’

It’s an exciting time for Malta-born musician I Am Willow. She won ‘Best Songwriter’ and ‘Best Female Artist’ at the Malta Music Awards in 2009, which prompted her decision to move to England. She’s flourished since then; Annie Lennox offered her free studio time after hearing a private performance, and Sting booked her for his official after party during his Malta tour.

Influenced by the complex works of artists such as Kate Bush and Tori Amos, and London Grammar, I Am Willow is now focusing her attention on writing and releasing new material. Speaking of her latest single, Willow said: “So far every single I’ve put out, including ‘Hearts In The Night’, was the result of a first-time collaboration. In this case with Benbrick. With each single I went in to a writing session with no expectations and somehow we hit on some energy that simply came to life in the form of music. To me this song is actually healing. It really centres me. I’m so happy that the video feels exactly like the song does, but in visual form.”
