Visions Festival announces first wave of acts and events

East London’s Visions Festival has announced its first wave of music acts and additional non-music events for its fifth birthday.

Set to take place on August 5, the festival will bring a range of internationally acclaimed artists. Cult heroes Liars will top the bill, making it their first UK show since 2014. Electronic producer SOPHIE and Norweigan producer and singer Jenny Hval will also be joining them.

Hval’s Sacred Bones label mate Blanck Mass is back to perform for a second time at Visions. US talents ZEBRA KATZ, The Men and Frankie Cosmos will be adding to the bill. Latin American musician Helado Negro will perform following the release of his fifth album Private Energy last year.

South London will be represented by Shame, while Rough Trade will be celebrated by Goat Girl and fast-rising MC Benny Mails. R&B meets folktronic duo IDER and Tel Aviv-based artist Noga Erez will also be playing.

Visions also offers various non-music events like a Screen Print Class, Tattoo Flash Day, Record & Zine Fair and the Street Food & Craft Beer Festival. The Dog Show will be returning, and will be joined by new events Punk Rock Karaoke and a cook-off.

The artwork for this year’s festival is a special collaboration with Australian graphic designer and art director Leif Podhajsky. He’s known for his album covers with the likes of Foals and Tame Impala.

Visions Festival takes place on Saturday 5 August across various venues in London Fields, East London. One wristband covers access to all venues.

Tickets cost £27.50 and are available here.
