Poppy Hankin, Iris McConnell, Sophie Moss and Emily Craste, aka Girl Ray, first formed whilst studying for their A Levels, going on to self-release their first track ‘I’ll Make This Fun’, which went on to receive acclaim from the likes of The Line Of Best Fit and BBC 6Music. Now, working on their debut album, they’ve shared a catchy, uptempo new track.
‘Trouble’ is a joyous slice of garage-rock, filled with lush, honey-sweet harmonies and sunny, infectious hooks. Of the song, the band say that – despite its upbeat sound – it’s about:
“… apathy and hating yourself for trying to win pointless arguments in snakey ways… It’s about turning into someone you don’t like.”
