WATCH: Mined – ‘Mistakes’

Up and coming London-born artist Mined, aka Kofi Holmes Attivor, released his new single ‘Mistakes’ on last month. In November last year, he released his debut single ‘Pangs’, drawing the attention from the likes of Dazed, i-D, Wonderland, The 405 and more.

Mined was born to a Ghanaian family in Tooting. Before pursuing his career in music, the artist studied a Molecular Cell Biology degree at the University of York; it was in this time he discovered the sensual landscapes of Brian Eno’s Music for Airports and work by artists such as Spooky Black, Majical Cloudz and Foals, and was inspired to develop his own sound.

Written in his room in London, ‘Mistakes’ has surpassed your standard electronic R’n’B track – it takes us to a powerful place, flowing with soothing yet sorrowing tones. The complexity yet lucidity of his sound, and the true sincerity of the track, offers a truly fascinating take on the British electronic music scene. The sheer intensity of this offering highlighting the sheer passion behind the lyrics Attivor sings.
