WATCH: NONN – ‘Hills’

If the restless, urgent nature of post-punk gets under your skin; there’s a strong chance you’re going to enjoy the sounds of Stockholm-based NONN. His debut self-titled LP was released via Fuzz Club earlier this year, and his latest single for album track ‘Hills’ has a new set of moody monochrome visuals that perfectly compliment the song’s bleak but hypnotic nature.

Shot in NONN’s homeland of Sweden, the video follows a lone man wandering across sparse woodlands, hilltops, and canoeing across a lake – all of which look edgier when set to the sound of NONN’s motorik drum-machine percussion and brooding, relentless basslines. ‘Hills’ is cut from the same cloth as previous single ‘Need’, and both tracks sit seamlesslyy next to each other on the self-titled album. It’s a record that’s influenced as much by Kraftwerk, Movement-era New Order and Suicide, as it is to modern bands like The KVB, DIIV or label-mates The Underground Youth.

NONN (aka the Christian Eldefors, also of The Orange Revival) is set to visit the UK on a brief tour later this year, including a stop at London’s Shacklewell Arms and Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia. Watch the video for ‘Hills’ below, and follow NONN on Facebook for more updates.
