WATCH: The OBGMs – ‘Pill’

‘Pill’ is the second single to be revealed from The OBGMs‘ forthcoming self-titled debut album, and the accompanying video is a colourful, chaotic ride that will leave your ears ringing and your retinas raging. Originally emerging on the Toronto hip hop scene as a rap trio, The OBGMs turned their attentions to punk rock after songwriter/guitarist/vocalist Densil McFarlane discovered the punk scene, and began teaching himself guitar.

This change in musical direction has resulted in the band’s explosively named first single ‘Torpedo, and it has continued with the equally as energetic follow-up ‘Pill’. Front-man McFarlane is complimentary of director Ryan Enn Hughes’ input for the new ‘Pill’ video: “Ryan has been the best in the game from time. He’s a true visionary who knows how to reflect chaos in a simple way” – we couldn’t agree more. See for yourself by watching the video for ‘Pill’ below, and make sure you catch the band live at Afropunk London this weekend (July 22nd).

The OBGMs’ debut album will be released via Black Box on 8th September. Pre-order now.
