WATCH: Pusha T strikes an appearance in alt-J’s ‘In Cold Blood’ video

In 2017, alt-J worked with a series of artists, such as Rejjie Snow, Danny Brown, Little Simz and Pusha-T, the latter of which now features in the band’s empirical video for ‘In Cold Blood’.

The collaboration between alt-J and Pusha T struck controversy for many fans until the visuals of the music video were dropped. Falling short of three minutes long, ‘In Cold Blood,’ vibrates vibrant lyrics from New-York born rapper Pusha T and robotic murdered spoken words by Alt-J.

Following the warped, electronica likes of the track, is the video game-like music video,  featuring a wave of glitchy 3D visuals, luminous colours and psychedelic graphics.

It’s fair to say, regardless of this being an unexpected partnership, Alt-J has hit a dynamic market. Having bit the bullet with something which could have been very confusing for fans, it’s fair to say, ‘In Cold Blood,’ has had its fair share of positive spotlight-striking more excitement for fans and the official album launch of Reduxer.

Director of the video, Osean, speaks with DIY magazine about the collaboration. “Pusha and alt-J have two completely different styles and colouring them together makes for an interesting sound.”
