WATCH: Scorcher shares visuals for latest track ‘Lord’

Having been nominated for the Best Video award at last years MOBO Awards, performed on the same bill as Snoop Dogg at The O2 and headlined his own show at Camden’s Jazz Cafe, 2014 was a pretty big year for Scorcher. The launch of his 1 of 1 EP at the end of the year topped off 2014 in style and Scorcher returns early in 2015 with the visuals for a track taken from that very EP, ‘Lord’.

Featuring G Money and J Avalanche, the track is a trap music lovers dream with hi hats, auto tune and short, sharp bars galore. Whilst Scorcher has always been a grime MC, he has never been afraid to try his hand at new styles and ‘Lord’ showcases a much more measured side to his flow than we’ve seen in the past.

Although ‘Lord’ is not the only heavily trap influenced track on the 1 of 1 EP, it is certainly the track that is most likely to be labelled a hood anthem and the black and white visuals of empty car parks, big chains and arial views of inner city London all add to that image.

Of his EP, Scorcher said, “I’m trying to make music people can live with – more than just music for the club, radio or car. I’m trying to bring people into my world and be a part of it, like IMAX”, so to get an insight into Scorcher’s world, check out the video below and let us know what you think via Twitter and Facebook.
