The UK urban music producer/MC duo of Teeboi and Rocket aka Splurgeboys are perhaps best known for producing tracks for the likes of Skepta, Fekky and Ghetts but having teamed up with Paper Aero Plane (PAP) members James Pyke and Snowy Danger on a brand new track titled ’19 How Long’, the guys have really showcased the full extent of their talents as MCs.
The track is a reference to how long all the artists involved have been making music in the scene and we certainly won’t be forgetting how long they’ve been doing this as they’ve created one of the catchiest choruses in recent times, “PAP we’re the hardest don / you already know that the team’s too strong / been doing this thing since 19 how long / how long, too long”.
With an additional feature from Boy Better Know’s ‘king of show stealing verses’ Frisco, who arguably steals the show yet again, ’19 How Long’ is a fresh grime x hip hop crossover that catches the feel of both cultures perfectly.
Produced by Kadey James, the beat is a dark, bassy voyage through the murky world that is grime and the verses flow perfectly over it to create a really gritty ‘head nodder’ of a track. The only disappointment is that P Money featured in the video but didn’t get a feature; a dead cert for the remix perhaps? Watch this space…
